White House

Our client acquired a completely dilapidated house in Surbiton at the South-Western fringe of London. The project required a complete overhaul of the existing building. This included wrapping the building with insulated render, new enlarged windows throughout, opening up the living spaces, a new kitchen, new bathrooms, under-floor heating throughout, plenty of inbuilt storage and external landscaping. This was all achieved to a modest budget of just £1,365 per square metre.

The entire house is kept in white – both, internally and externally – and extremely minimal in appearance. Doors have been designed to be without and architraves, all joinery blends into walls and sliding doors enable the ground floor to be completely opened up. This aesthetic approach has been offset against a warm bamboo floor. The floor consists of solid stripes which add extra visual depth to the material. Bamboo is a very sustainable material and compliments the general green approach of the refurbishment.

More details and final photos to follow soon.
